Growing up in Maryland, I always found comfort with its charming towns, scenic coastlines and culture. I built many cherished memories there. My roots were deeply planted, and I thought I’d spend my entire life in this beautiful state.
However, life has a way of surprising us, and a new opportunity beckoned me to Massachusetts. In Maryland, I was married for a little over 22 years; we won’t go into the details of that derailment though. I had 2 beautiful children, Kyle who was born in March of 1991, and Kori was born in January of 1993. They are both fully grown adults now with plentiful lives. I am so proud of the adults they have become. My decision to move was both thrilling and obnoxiously scary. Leaving behind my Maryland home, family and friends was not easy, but the promise of new beginnings and growth in Massachusetts was irresistible. Not to mention the wonderful man I had met. As I settled down in my new surroundings, I began to see and respect all the charm that New England had to offer.
I landed my current job in June of 2013 in the accounts payable department of a local utility municipality. I was able to buy my first home and have settled in very nicely. Mike and I actually got married in April of 2023; we will be celebrating 15 years together this April! Time is flying by so fast.
This move was a whirlwind of change, but it has also been a journey of self-discovery. I’ve learned to embrace the unknown, adapt to new environments, and find joy in the little moments of everyday life. I’ve always been a believer of the old saying “You won’t know unless you try”. While Maryland will always hold a special place in my heart, I love watching where this new chapter is taking me. Here’s to new beginnings and so many adventures that lie ahead!
